Alliance Lawyers Forum
Vision
To empower lawyers in Pakistan through skill development, ethical leadership, and institutional support—building a stronger legal profession that upholds justice, human rights, and the rule of law in an evolving judicial system.
Context & Purpose
Lawyers in Pakistan, especially young and independent practitioners, are facing increasing professional and systemic challenges. These include:
- Lack of structured legal training after graduation, with a large gap between theory and practical court experience
- Underemployment and economic instability, particularly for junior lawyers in smaller cities
- Limited continuing legal education (CLE) and poor access to international best practices
- Over-centralization and slow digitization of courts, leading to procedural delays
- Inconsistent judicial behavior and backlog of cases, undermining public trust
- Politicization of bar councils and lack of institutional support for ethical legal practice
- Vulnerability to exploitation, harassment, and unsafe work environments, especially for women in law
- Limited representation of lawyers in policy-making on justice sector reforms
The Alliance Lawyers Forum aims to fill these gaps by acting as a professional development hub, an advocacy platform, and a career-enabling network for lawyers across Pakistan.
